Freelancing with Disability: Start Your Path in Motion Design

Are you a motion designer who is thinking about freelancing? Perhaps you’re someone who lives with a disability or health condition. You want to start your career as an independent creative, but you don’t know how. Maybe you’re also hesitating because you’re not sure if you can make it with your existing health challenges. This was me, but years ago!

It took me a year of research before I felt confident enough to present myself in the world as an independent animator. You don’t have to wait that long because I am offering you a blueprint to start building your path into motion design as a freelancer!

In this class you will learn:

  • How to create a portfolio that will attract clients, agencies and companies

  • How and where to hunt for gigs

  • How to pass job interviews, talk about your disability/health condition

  • Pitch your ideas successfully

  • How to plan your budget, rates and negotiate your fees

  • What to include in your contracts

  • How to create a production schedule that works with your health condition or disability

  • How to establish successful relationships with clients that are based on mutual trust

This class is for people who are just starting up their career in motion design or considering moving from studio work. The class will equip you with the essential tools so you will not only survive but also thrive in the ever-changing world of freelancing. Even though the program is tailored for people with unique needs, other members of the community might find helpful tips. My goal here is to provide you with the compass that will navigate you through the waves of doubts and questions about freelancing that most people experience and ask.
